How the RTP simulator works

Averages are useful, but they hide how bumpy slots really are. The RTP simulator makes that visible. It runs 300 simulated sessions from a game’s RTP, volatility and max win, then shows how the results spread out. Think of it as a slot volatility simulator that turns the abstract into something you can see.

What you enter

Choose an RTP, a volatility level and a max-win multiple, plus your stake and spins per session. You can also load a real game to start from its figures. The tool then plays out 300 sessions in a moment.

What you see

  • Median result: the middle outcome, where half of sessions finish better and half worse.
  • Share of sessions in profit: how many of the 300 ended above the starting budget.
  • Best and worst 10%: the range at both ends, to show how far results can stretch.

How to read it

Run a low-volatility game, then a high-volatility one with the same RTP. You will usually see the second produce wider ends: more very poor sessions and a few very large ones. The median often sits below the starting budget, and that is normal, because RTP is below 100%. A larger spin count tends to pull results closer to the average.

This is an illustration, not a promise. Simulations use simplified models and cannot reproduce any real game’s exact maths. Use it to understand what volatility means, not to plan a strategy. Nothing here makes a win more likely.

Questions people ask

What is a slot simulator?

It is a tool that plays many virtual sessions using a game’s RTP, volatility and max win, then shows how results spread. Ours runs 300 sessions and shows the median, share in profit and best and worst 10%. It is an illustration, not a prediction.

How does the slot volatility simulator show volatility?

By the spread of outcomes. A high-volatility setting gives wider results, with more very poor sessions and a few very big ones. A low-volatility setting clusters results closer to the average. Compare them in the RTP simulator. Try the same RTP with different volatility settings and compare the best and worst 10% to see the difference clearly.

Can a simulator predict my results?

No. Every real spin is random and independent. The simulator shows the range of outcomes that a model can produce, which helps you understand risk. It cannot say what will happen to you. Use it to build a sense of how wide results can be, and never as a way to decide how much to stake.

Why do most simulated sessions finish below the starting budget?

Because RTP is below 100%, the average session loses a little over time. A few sessions finish far ahead, which is why the best 10% can look strong while the median stays low. Run more spins per session and you will usually see the median drift further down towards the average cost.

What does volatility mean in slots?

Volatility describes how swingy a game is. High volatility pays less often but can pay bigger, and low volatility pays small amounts more often. It does not change the RTP. See our feature dictionary. You can filter by volatility in the Slot Finder to find games that match the pace you enjoy.
